Special Projects Update #11

I am so grateful to our amazing Facility Specialists and Maintenance Team for all they have done to prepare the Sanctuary and Sunday School buildings for Gay Construction to take occupancy and begin demolition.    They have been in every nook and cranny removing items left behind.  In addition, they have been collecting tables, chairs, and dishes for donations that will be picked up this Saturday.

Noise Alert

Please be aware that next week Gay Construction will begin demolishing the transept balconies.  They will be using JACKHAMMERS to remove the concrete.  There will be significant noise on the West Side of Campus. It will be LOUD.  I suggest keeping doors closed to help mitigate the sound.

Entrance/Exit Closures

The following entrances/exits will be closed until further notice:

• Double Elevator Doors
• The doors leading to the 2nd Floor Sr. Pastor’s Office
• The Sanctuary Main Doors
• The Entry Door by Rebecca Madden’s and Scott Tucker’s old Offices
• The Entry Doors to Wilson Chapel
• The Entry Doors to the North of Wilson Chapel
• The Exit Doors to the Circle from the Gym East Stairwell (Stairwell 15)

Temporary Walls up in Sanctuary

Gay Construction takes occupancy of the Sanctuary and Sunday School Building as a construction site. Other than limited access through the 2nd Floor Main Hallway, the only open areas will be the Family Ministry/Gymnastics Wing and the Gym Building. 

Williams Center Elevator

The Williams Center elevator is available to take congregants from the 1st Floor to the 2nd Floor.  Please do not go to the 3rd floor.  There is no egress at that level as temporary barriers have been put in place to protect the construction zone.

Traffic Flow on West (Main) Campus

• The circle drive is permanently closed. 
• The parking outside the Gym is open; however, there is not an access to the Circle Drive.
• Behind the Print Shop – Traffic will be two-way. 
• There will be no access to the covered driveway.

Construction  – The Week Ahead – May 29th

2nd Floor Main Hallway

Temporary walls are installed along the main hallway. 

Driveway Behind the Church 2-Way

The driveway that goes behind the church near the Print Shop and covered drive will become 2-Way as the drive under will be closed for construction.

Tunnel Access

Access to the Tunnel can be gained through the door South of the Family Commons Entrance under the Williams Center
